This Week in Public Opinion

PollingReport.com, a self-proclaimed "independent nonpartisan resource on trends in American public opinion," posted new numbers on the Bush-era tax cuts and military action in Iraq (and has just slightly more dated info on other issues, as well).

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Political Science Professor Tom Holbrook started a new blog, "Politics by the Numbers," with an inaugural post on election polls.

The Pew Research Center's "daily number" reports dealt with disaster preparedness, cell phone and internet habits, immigration, and Americans' views on the politicians' religiosity.

And finally, according to The Onion, "1 in 5 Americans Believe Obama Is a Cactus"

Here's the link to Project Implicit. As described in the article we read in class today, its purpose is to measure people's implicit biases -- i.e. their subconscious prejudices -- towards different groups. In this way, it can help diagnose the extent of insincerity and its implications for public opinion poll and survey results.
